We’re heading into summer soon enough, but there’s still plenty of spring left to enjoy. And you can start with this pretty, pastel-ly floral headband. The whole thing is made with just one really basic motif strung together.
This is also a great stash cleaner because you only need small amounts of each color yarn. So…bust out the scraps and let’s get makin’.
• Any worsted weight yarn you want to get rid of. You can do multiple colors, classic black and white, or just one solid color.
• Size (H) crochet hook
• About a half yard of ribbon
• Needle and thread for sewing on the ribbon
Puff Stitch: (Yo, insert hook in next space, yo, draw yarn through space, draw yarn through 2 loops on hook) twice in same space, yo, draw yarn through all 3 loops on hook.
Ch 6. Sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in ring, ch 5, (puff st, ch 5) 5 times in ring, sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch to join.
To join the motifs, you can either join as you go or sew them all together once you have them finished. Sew the ribbon onto the backs of the motifs on either end, and you’re good to go.
For my headband, I made six motifs, but then I have a rather large dome. You may choose to do more or less depending on the yarn you use and the size of your own noggin. You can of coourse wear it as a classic headband at the crown of your head, or you can wear it across you forehead for more of a boho look.
